A User Medical APP 2
Introducing our new Medical App, designed specifically for individuals who are visually impaired and/or technologically illiterate. As a UX designer, I created this app from scratch to make it easier for these individuals to manage their medical needs and access important information.
The app features a user-friendly interface with large, high-contrast text and simple navigation. It also includes voice commands and audio cues to help guide users through the app. For those who may have difficulty with touchscreens, the app can be controlled through external buttons or a Bluetooth-enabled keyboard.
One of the key features of the app is the medication management system. Users can easily input their medication schedule and receive reminders when it’s time to take their medication. The app also includes a built-in database of common medications and their side effects, so users can easily access this information without needing to search the internet.
In addition to medication management and symptom tracking, the app also includes a system that sends medical indications given by the doctor to the patients. This can be done through a Braille printer or Braille pad, or through voice messages, ensuring that users do not lose the papers given by their doctor or struggle to read them due to their visual impairment. With this feature, users do not need assistance from family or friends and can be more independent, maintaining their privacy in medical exams or while attending health-related activities.
Blindness and visual impairment affect a significant number of individuals worldwide, with an estimated 285 million people affected globally, according to the World Health Organization. In Germany alone, there are approximately 1.2 million people living with visual impairments. By catering to this large market, our Medical App has the potential to increase sales for health activities, as individuals with visual impairments can now more easily manage their medical needs and feel more confident and empowered when seeking medical care.
Overall, our Medical App is designed to make managing medical needs easier and more accessible for individuals who may face barriers due to visual impairment or technological illiteracy. We believe that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare and a full and enriching life, and this app is one small step towards making that a reality.
